Foodie Friday: Mille Crepe from Nadeje

Nadeje Cafe 08Short Note: This is another scheduled post. Having class at this moment until 9.30 pm. I hate having class at night time.
Another segment of Foodie Friday again!

I know that this is not a new and extraordinary topic but for me, it is a new discovering when visiting Malacca. This caught my attention when I saw few of notable bloggers ever posted about this so I suggested to my housemate that we should go and hunt for this when going to Malacca. So, forget about chicken rice balls and also the satay celup. No more hunt for these food since both of us had tried it before.

Mille Crepe from Nadeje, is a French cake consist of many layers of crepes filling with thick sweet cream and stacked together. This is the first thing we hunt for once we checked-in to the hotel since one of Nadeje's outlet located on the top of Dataran Pahlawan mall which just few miles away from the hotel we were staying.

Great Deal of Equatorial Hotel, Malacca

I think it is so fortunate for those who lived in around Peninsular Malaysia with all these online great deals where they offers varieties of discount vouchers, coupons and promotions around Peninsular Malaysia only. I hope they can expand to East Malaysia so that more Malaysians can enjoy these great deals and offers.

I signed up to few of these online website ever since I at KL and came across this:

Untitled-1

Appear exactly at the right time because I was searching for Malacca hotels through agoda.com. After informed my housemate regarding this deal, there's goes our journey to Malacca. We need to call Equatorial Hotel first in order to check whether our preferred travel date available or not. After being confirmed by their staff, then only can purchase this deal from Groupon. This promotion is only valid from Sunday to Thursday and some of the dates are blackout especially during holiday season.

Since my housemate and I have no class on Monday, so we plan heading down to Malacca on Sunday. Luckily my housemate told me that the bus terminal to Malacca is no more located at Pudu. All this while I still thought at Pudu, but they had changed to Bandar Tasik Selatan. Really no updated one!

By the way, the bus terminal in Bandar Tasik Selatan is so huge and both of us really lost and nearly miss the bus. Thank God manage to get into the bus 3 minutes before the bus depart but I was wondering will Malaysia bus depart exactly on time.

Reached Malacca after 1 hour and 45 minutes journey and we decided to take taxi to Equatorial Hotel because both of us had no idea how to take the domestic bus. The taxi fare cost RM15 which is quite expensive but I guess currently KL taxi also do the same thing. Refused to use meters and charge higher.

It's been a while that I didn't post or share anything on Bits & Bites since currently most of my post are mainly focus on travel and trips. And now, I had included another new segment in my blog which is "FOODIE FRIDAY!". That's right! I will share anything that related to foods, beverages and anything that is edible one will be post on Friday (unless there are special circumstances going on).

Start off my first post of Foodie Friday with Party Play Lifestyle Cafe, located at Lintas, Kota Kinabalu. Well, this is my second visit after my first visit was introduced by Mei Tzeu and Angliea since last year December (click here). I always want to visit this lifestyle cafe but my boyfie and crazy deariest prefer to go other places instead.

Finally, last week when I had my short break back to KK, I suggested to my crazy deariest that we should go Party Play since recently they had just launching their new extension. And also because the birthday gal, Shing Wei had never went there before.

Lotus Lake - Dragon and Tiger Tower & Spring and Autumn Pagodas

Date of Visited: 23rd December 2010

Lotus Lake located on the northern outskirts of Kaohsiung is noted for its famous scenic area and beautiful view. There are more than 20 temples in the neighborhood, therefore it is being described as "temple everywhere" in this area.

Dragon and Tiger Tower is one of the most well-known temples around the Lotus Lake. According to the local tour guide, entering the dragon's mouth which is the entrance and exit from the tiger's mouth symbolises turning bad luck to good fortune.

Spring and Autumn Pagodas

About 700 meters away from the Dragon and Tiger Tower are the Spring and Autumn Pavilions.

Spring and Autumn Pavilions 01

In front of these two massive pavilions, is a statue of Goddess of Mercy or known as "Guanyi" in Chinese riding a dragon. According to the legend, Guanyin appeared above the clouds riding on a dragon, signifying that believers must erect an image depicting this event between pavilions of summer and autumn. These two pagodas linked by a "nine turns bridge" represent of traditional Chinese octagonal architecture.

There are few shops nearby this area that selling souvenirs and local fruits too. Some of the items which I didn't manage to shop at the night market, I shop at here such as postcards, "I ♥ TW" T-shirt and more. And at here too, finally I managed to get the answer I was curious about from the local. "Why they guess that we are from Malaysia instead guessing other place?"
