Tsukiji Fish Market

What do you feel when you saw this?
tsukiji 04
Are your saliva drooling now when seeing a bowl stuffed with fresh and huge sashimi, sea urchin, shrimp and more?

If you are looking for fresh raw seafoods such as sashimi and salmon in Tokyo, Tsukiji Fish Market is the place to be on your top list. Tsukiji Fish Market is best known as one of the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. Its also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kind including fruits, vegetables, meat and even flowers.

What caused Tsukiji well known as major attractions is the tuna auction. Due to the number of visitors have increased significantly over recent years and caused a problem to the course of business, the numbers of visitors to the tuna auction is restricted to 140 per day. The auction start at 5:00 am and ends at 6:15am.

However, Nicole and I unable to witness the most exciting and unique auction because we were lost during our way to there from train staion. Imagine that both of us woke up as early as 3:30 am Malaysia time (Japan time is 4:30 am) but at the end, we were still late for that.

OMG! Can you believe that the restaurant we picked the space is so limited and tiny and some more can only accomodate like 10 customers.

tsukiji 04-1
But nothing much more to complain when the foods were served right in front of us.

Honestly to say it kind of waste for me for don't know how to enjoy the foods because I'm not really into raw foods. cry

A few general rules for visiting Tsukiji Market

tsukiji 11
Study the map first before going to the market so you won't get lost

Once ever said, "UK trip won't complete without visiting Manchester Studio" and "Tokyo vacation would be incomplete without memorable and unique visit to the Tsukiji Fish Market".

How to get there:
Tsukiji Fish Market is just above Tsukiji Shijo Station on the Oedo Subway Line. Alternatively, it can be reached in five minute walk from Tsukigi Station of the Hibiya Subway Line. The closest JR station is Shimbashi, from where you calk to the market in about 15 minutes. (Don't ever ask which station we took because it still a miserable to me sad)

UPDATE: Unfortunate following the 11 March 2011 earthquake, the tuna auction has been closed to tourists. No date for re-opening has been announced.

Tiny and small shops along narrow alleys line selling hundreds of electronics components.

In Malaysia, Bravia is a Sony brand used to market its high-definition LCD televisions, projection TVs and front projectors. But in Japanese market, Bravia is their mobile phones.

<span class=
I noticed that most of the Japanese used this type of mobile phone instead of iPhone. Seriously...

Besides its a center for electronic devices, this area is is also known as the "Gamer's Mecca". Akihabara has a great number of specialty hobbyist stores, ranging from anime, manga and collectible otaku goods.

Asakusa Nakamise Shopping Street

This is the first attraction we visited when we reach Tokyo within few hours.
Due to the room had not ready yet for us to check in, therefore we plan to shop as our itinerary for the remaining days will be very tight.

Asakusa Nakamise is a lively shopping street lined up with small shops selling enormous selection of traditional local snacks such as rice biscuits, instance red bean cakes, edible seaweed and a huge array of sourvenirs including kimono, T-shirts, keychain, cell-phone straps, fans, toys and etc. During our way to there, we were almost lost. But thanks to the courtesy of Japanese, we finally made it.

Celebrate Wawa B'day @ Q Bar

Everytime when comes to think of the venue to celebrate deariest birthday, it makes all of us really headache. Where can we celebrate and organise birthday since we are so noisy and nasty twisted?

In conjuction with Wawa birthday which will be in next month, Jane and Pat suggest to celebrate at Q Bar since we plan to celebrate on Friday night. When I heard Q-Bar, I was like "Not Again!!". I'd been to Q bar before but I am those who not really like to go to those closed-air space filled with lots of smoking and drink places.

Anyway, Q Bar is extraordinary different from other pub and bar. It's not like the other normal bar. Trust me if you are finding something different in KK town.

Q Bar, which located at Gaya Street, along the same row as Tong Hing, Eden 54 Hotel, it is a straight-friendly gay bar. It is open daily at 8 pm. You'll be more entertain if you go on friday as every Friday, there will be a drag show by the Q Girls. That's the reason why we went on Friday night.

<span class=
<span class=
<span class=
They don't SING, but they do DANCE and PERFORM WELL!

They dance and perform like nobody. What amazed me was they even wear a very high heal shoe during their performance. If I'm wearing high heel and dance like them, sure I will fall down <span class=. I can see that night people at Q Bar are whistling and screaming once the music is turn on. Everyone is having their fun.

On that night, we even gave a big SURPRISED for the birthday gal;

So, How Many People You Fool Today?

Seems like everyone is aware of what date today. Yup, today is 1st of April and it is April Fool, my friend.

There are few bloggers posting "I Am Stop Blogging!", "No More Blogging!", or even "This Will Be My Last Blog" and so on.

For me, I do something different. Most of my friends know that I love to travel and recently I travel more often especially last year, I travel to 3 different countries for 3 consecutive months.

So, I post this (below) in my facebook and even my twitter last night:

april fool 03

And guess what response I get today:

april fool 01

april fool 02

I guess I did fooled 4 people. Hehehe.. I think I could fool more if I don't reply earlier. Anyway, HAPPY APRIL FOOL!
